This is also a puma who wouldn’t be able to survive in the wild. They got him because they made sure they knew how to treat his health problems. They didn’t just go “we want a pet mountain lion”. They found out about a sick cub who could never be released, learned how to prepare their home for him, and then were able to adopt him. They made a really cool video about it.

When a house at gets angry it sinks it’s teeth into your arm with its front claws and kicks with its back, similar to what it does a mouse once caught. Whilst it’s alive as it’s untypical to find a house cat actually eating mice and even when their dead, they are used as a trophy for their owners. This predators instinct comes from before generations and has probably been ‘housetrained’ for the past 1 generation, this puma is probably the first in the family tree to be hand raised so you have to be cautious with a animal strong enough to hire through your bones. Basically, stick to dead animals or fresh meat if you want a wild animal to domesticate.

I live in Northern Canada Messi is about half the size of the last cougar I saw in the wild. Even if he could hunt he would be done for. he couldn't compete in the wild. It may not be a 'natural' life but it is the life he has and by he is happy and dearly loves his humans.

Sometimes circumstances mean keeping an animal in captivity. Or as an adorable pet❤
